Proud as a Peacock!

Whimsy Inspirations challenge this week is anything but a square and Anything Goes,  we know how much you all love an Anything goes challenge, but you just can't do square!

How fabulous is this Moon Cookie Gallery digi of a peacock.  I used mainly spica pens to colour the peacock and some copics to do the flowers.

Due to the super bright colours, I've kept the card design very simple with only the corner embellishments.  I'm really happy with how it looks.

The design team have some totally awesome creations to really give you some fabulous inspiration.  Check it all out at Whimsy Inspirations Challenge.

Have a wonderfully creative crafty day!

2nd Entry for Copic Marker Europe's 1st Birthday

Yes, lots of posts from me today, I guess I'm finally getting finished after a flurry of colouring on the weekend!

Copic Marker Europe is turning 1 and they are having a month long celebration.

See my earlier post using the Saturated Canary image drawn by Krista Smith.  Here is the gorgeously cute Wee Stamps image by Sylvia Zet.  She is such a darling.

Isn't she cute!  I decided that she said happy birthday all by herself with that fabulous cake and candle so I've left the sentiment off.

I've used two Cheery Lynne heart dies. and as I cut the image out, the little circles that Sylvia had drawn are now pearls!

Copics used here.
Skin:  E0000; E00; E01; E93
Hair:  E50; E11; E15
Jumpsuit:  R81; 83; 85 YR28

Covered Journal

Hello there, welcome to my new followers, I hope you find some inspiration while you're here.  I love reading that you've dropped by, so please leave me comments, I do try to respond to them.

On to my post....Mad for Markers has a month long challenge and for June we are asking you to do something different with your copic markers.  Anything but a card or layout.

The design team has done some amazing projects which take you away from the norm so please go and check out all the fabulous ideas!  There are some pretty neat entries too, although we might have scared you all off as only a few brave souls have entered so far.

I got this Urban Lily journal in a bulk selection of items as a bonus for renewing a magazine subscription.  It was basically heavy chipboard with the internal pages in the ring binder.  Great idea but it sat around for some time until I needed to make something else for the M4M challenge this month.

 I really dug around in my stash and pulled out some things I've had for oh about 4 years.  this stitched paper is one of them!  The lace as well, then there were all the little pink rhinestones.  Well they were just waiting around for the right project!

 The image is a Some Odd Girl 'Royal'.  Isn't she divine?  She was such a joy to colour, I used soft violet shades for her and even her hair uses plum browns.

I've used some cotton lace around the edge and then added the metal filigree corners, I had to hold them down with pegs while the glue dried, but they held quite fast.  I LOVE this X-Press It gel glue.

You know what I think I'll use my journal for?  I'm going to keep track of my favourite copic colour combinations,  hints and tips, techniques and ideas so that I have a 'go to' book to help kickstart that mojo.

Copics used for Royal
Skin E0000, 00, 01
Dress: V91, 93, 95
Hair: E71, 74, 77 W 1, 3, 5

Royal is destined to be shown off at Make it Monday ~ Linky Party

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Delicious Doodles has a very simple challenge this week to have one of something, then have two of something then three of something on your card.

I'd coloured this stunning Delicious Doodles Fairy Fae up in gorgeous purples, she has these pretty butterflies fluttering around her.  Isn't she just stunning?  Love her to bits.

 I have One silver charm

 Two die cut embellishments, the black strip on the side and
 the black corner pieces are one square cut in half diagonally
(I hope that counts as one!)
(The other two is two types of gems. Black Pearls and Green Gems)

 Three textured papers the deep purple strip,
the gorgeous pale lilac textured paper under the image which the dots embossed lavender cardstock layered on the black base.

This final picture show more of the sparkle of the spica pens, I love using these on my images they add such a beautiful sparkle.

Copics used for Fairy Fae are

Hair: V04, V06 & V09  Lavender and Clear spica pens
Skin: E50, E51, E53 & R20
Wings:  BV0000, BV00, BV02 Clear spica pen
Butterflies: E70, E74, B00, B02, B04, BG000, BG15 & G0 Turquoise, Pink and clear spica pens

Loved colouring this little beauty.  Hope you like her.

White on White and Whimsy

Welcome to my new followers, thank you for choosing my blog!

OK on to this weeks Whimsy Inspirations Challenge, it's White on White!  Your image can be coloured, but that's the only thing, you'll see that using only white and texture really makes your image pop!

 I had fun with this, I've used a Livy Bo image called Flap Happy, she's just so chic.  Her flower is coloured in spica pens, silver, clear and red The rest is coloured in copics E50, 51 and 53 for her skin, E40, 43, 44, 49 for her hair, R27 46 for her headband and lips. A row of tiny pearls for her necklace and she'd finished.

It hasn't picked up so well in the photo, the back panel is a script stamp, stamped in versamark then dusted with Macro Pearls mica powder.  It shimmers beautifully. The next layer is dry embossed with a damask design, this has been sprayed with Champagne Shimmer Mist paint mixed with rubbing alcohol so it's also sparkly in a slightly different way to the mica powder.

I've then cut the Butterfly from my Whimsy butterfly die from Pearlised white card and then decided that the little holes would look great with rhinestones, and look I have a W!  LOL... I wonder if that was deliberate as it's a Whimsy die.

I've also really gone to town with all my white Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.  I sponged a little bit of light gray over the edges of my layers to help define them better.  I've also used my Nestie ovals to frame the image and the sentiment.

Have fun with our White on White challenge, can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Cheers,

Buttons and Bows at Whimsy

Welcome to a new challenge at Whimsy Inspirations Challenge.  This week we bring you Buttons and Bows.  Here is what I made as my inspiration card.

I've used the Butterfly Bonus digi stamp that comes as a bonus when you purchase the new release Butterfly Border a StampArt Design by Kathryne.  You can find it here.

I've also used the new release butterfly papers from Michelle Roos design.  Love this paper!  My bonus butterfly has been printed 5 times, a tad smaller each time.  Don't you just love digi stamps!  I have to say I wasn't exactly a fan when they first came out, but wow, you can do some much with them.

My butterflies are coloured with copics.  BG000, BG15, B00, B02, B04, G000, E71 & E74.  Mint, Turquoise and Blue spica.

Soft and pretty Tilda

Hello Blends (blog friends), I hope your weekend has been fabulous.  Here in Oz we've had a long weekend for the Queen's Birthday.  I've spent some lovely time crafting away.

A while ago, I won three beautiful Magnolia stamps from Yani and this is one of them.  This little Tilda is so super cute.  I've made great use of some of my lovely Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and created this spray using lots of different flowers.  I really love the way it turned out.

I also picked up some beautiful metal embellishments when I got my flowers, I've added one here.  Once again, I haven't added a sentiment to my card, as I'm not sure what I want to use this one for yet.

Very few copics used here as I kept the colours soft and pretty and I'm so sorry but I didn't capture all the colours I'd used.

This card is being entered into the following challenges...

Wild Orchid Crafts - Anything Goes
Magnolia-Licious Challenge - Inspiration photo
Make it Monday - Linky Party

Thanks for stopping in to see my little Tilda.

Just Delicious!

I was Spotlighted! for Challenge #21 at Delicious Doodles this week!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey there, I have picked up some more of Teri's designs from Delicious Doodles.  She is an amazing artist and I liked this In the Harbour image as it works so well for masculine cards.  That's just what the challenge is at Delicious Doodles Challenges this week!
Yes, that's right there are real shells here, gonna have to hand deliver this one!
Here's a closer peek at the shells and the image.  There is a glossy finish on the windows on the little cabin and the top edge and front strip of each boat (no idea what the technical name is) The sand has a fine coating of sand spica and it has a beautiful sparkle just like real sand.
Hope you take the time to go and check out Teri's amazing art work, she has some gorgeous images and some that lean a little towards the dark side!
Sweet Baby!
UPDATE!   I made the top 3 in the Weekly Spotlight at Cheery Lynne Designs Challenge!  Wooooo Hoooooo.  Thank you DT at Cherry Lynne Designs
Hello, Welcome to my new followers, thank you for choosing to follow my blog.
Two posts in one day!  Not all that unusual for me when the mojo is bubbling away, and that's what is happening for me right now.  I had a commission from one of the girls at work for some Baby cards and this is what I did for her for the boy card she needed.
I just picked up the Heart to Heart set of dies from Cheery Lynne Designs and decided that it was perfect for this card.  I LOVE all the little cut out hearts you end up with.  I made 3 little 'faux brads' from them by adding a coat of crystal effects once they were glued into place.
This cute image is Cuddle Cloud Baby from Meljens Designs and it was too easy to colour up.  I think I'll do a girl card the same.  I don't usually double up, but this card turned out so lovely that I think I will make an exception.
This final photo shows the glimmer that I added by painting the white behind the hearts lace with smooch!  My camera never does shimmer or glitter well.  I also added some glitter by covering the stars on the image with Ice Stickles.  The hearts on the image were covered in Crystal Effects too so they shine.
Copics used.
B0000, B02, B04, C1, E0000, E00, E01  Baby Blue Spica
This little one is heading for the following challenges...
4 Crafty Chicks ~ Monochromatic
Cheery Lynne Designs ~ Make it Manly (I hope little boys count!)
Off the Page with Mad for Markers!
Sammi at Mad for Markers has inspired me to make this project with her fabulous shoes post and I loved her tips about using copics on the canvas shoes too.  Because of those tips (thank you Sammi), I decided to stamp onto the shoes and colour the images.  No fancy blending here, no sir-reee.  I used far less ink than Sammi did on her shoes.
The little canvas shoes are a sale item from KMart and cost me $4!  Got to be happy with that, if it doesn't work then I've not wasted too much money.  LOL
I stamped the shoes with Memento ink and used a couple of Stampin' Up! sets Simply Said and Merci.  Some of my stamping was a little soft so I used a multi liner to fix that.
OK, so you get the idea of what I'd done with the stamps.
 My tip when colouring on canvas or fabric is to just dab the tip of your marker in the centre of the image first, then slowly dab around that first spot of colour to increase the amount of colour you have in the image, allow the ink time to seep into the fabric before you add the next spot closer to the lines.  Too much ink too close to the line and it will just seep out past your lines.
 Sammi was right about bleeding!  Another tip from me.  DON'T try to fix it with your 0 copic marker, it makes it a whole lot worse.  As you can see by the pink flower on the front of the shoe on the left.
 Hope you're inspired to try using your copics on some ordinary things, you've got all month to come up with something fabulous!  Please see Sammi's post as she lets you know some things NOT to use them on so you don't ruin the tips of your markers.
I'm entering this project into the following challenges
Mad For Markers - Off the Page
Make it Monday - Linky Party  -  Oh no, I broke the rules as this project isn't paper based. It had to be removed from MIM  "sigh"  Sorry Michelle!
SGC Things with Wings!
Don't you just love crafting with images of Butterflies, Dragonflies, Fairies, Angels, Dragons, Birds and I'm sure you could add a few more creatures with wings.  The challenge this fortnight at Southern Girls Challenges is Things with Wings! I hope you have as much fun creating your cards for the challenge this week as I did.
I've used a fabulous image from Delicious Doodles, created by the very talented Teri, called 'Endless Love'  This was a joy to colour, Stunning art work and I just love the image.  Teri's work is gorgeous and she has some amazingly different images too if you're looking for something a little darker!
See that little strip of marbled paper?  I made that using the shaving cream technique.  The colours were all reflected in the image so it was perfect for this card.  I've also used some of my amazing Wild Orchid flowers that I just love and one of the metal filigree corners, a scallop border and some pearls.  Lots and lots of spica pen to make this shimmer and sparkle.
Here is a close up of the gorgeous image showing lots of spica pen giving it a glimmer that is amazing.
 I also used the little dots to create a background surrounding the image, it seemed to fit this quite well.  I absolutely loved colouring this image.
I'm also entering this into the Make it Monday Linky Party
What is your favourite stamp?
Isn't that such a hard question to answer?  I have so many favourites and I swap and change my mind so often then a new image is released from one of my favourite artists and I've all of a sudden got another new favourite!  Sound familiar?
Sweet Stampin' Challenge is asking us to use our favourite stamp for their challenge this week.  The main sponsor this week is Letraset.  Wow a whole set of pens, I'd love to try these as I've hear a lot about them and seen them used on so many blogs.
This is still one of my favourites and I have such fun inking her up.
Lots used here on this card.  I had some pretty lilac floral velum in my stash and this seemed like the perfect card for it.  I've used a Marianne Creatables die and some Whimsy flourish dies in SU Concord Crush to provide some balance to the lighter SU Wisteria Wonder which perfectly matched the velum and the BV02 in her top.
The flowers are mostly Wild Orchid Crafts and some I've coloured with Copics.  I've not added a sentiment to this one yet as I think she can be used for several different occasions, so I'll figure that out when I want to use her.
Copics used, there's lots!
