Hey Friend!

Hello to all my lovely followers and blog friends, I have taken just a tiny bit of my weekend to finish off this card after doing the whipper snipping and mowing yesterday then taking my little grand daughter to a fun day.  I'm worn out and I have to start packing for a work trip week away.  Now that I have my fabulous little netbook, I hope to be able to keep up the blogging while I'm gone.

I've had this little stamp for ages now, this is my first attempt at creating a card with her.  The gorgeous Cinnamon Sugar from Elisabeth Bell.  I read a profile of Elisabeth in one of the recent Whimsy magazines and realised that she's an Aussie!  A very talented one too!  I love her cottage cuties.

Summer Fun with Whimsy Inspirations Challenge #49

Welcome to a new Whimsy Inspirations Challenge Summer Fun! This is my last post as a DT member for Whimsy, sadly I have to step down.  I believe women can have it all, just not all at once so to free up some of my time, I need to clear some things off my plate.

I think I'm ending on an high with this fabulous card.....

Here in Australia, it is winter, so these bright summery cards are just what we need to warm us up.

I've use Marie a new digi image from LiaStampz which you can find at the Whimsy Store.  She's so cute and sassy, I have coloured her with Copics and have put some clear gloss over her glasses.

I've used some Kaiser craft Off Shore collection papers and a mix of Green Tara and Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.  The fabulous metal flower is also from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Can't wait to see what you come up with for Summer Fun!

Keep the blues coming.

I love blues music, it has that raw earthy quality to it and of course it was what lead to rock n roll in the 50s!

My second card for the Mad for Markers challenge this month and I've gone all blue. This little fella is Lil' Rocker Luka from La La Land stamps and he's so cute, this would be the third time I've inked him up!  Sammi should have him in stock at the Mad for Markers store, if not, she can order him in for you in next to no time!

 I love monochromatic cards and so decided to make that the theme for this one, apart from the skin tone and hair.  Once I finished colouring him, I put a glossy coat on that guitar to finish it off.  Love the effect.

There is still a tiny bit of time left to enter the challenge!

Punches and Edgers Challenge # 48

Welcome to a new challenge at Whimsy Inspirations Challenge.  This week we are asking you to use your punches and edgers.  How simple is that?

Here's what I came up with using this gorgeous Carnival Carousel Horse from Chrissy Armstrong.  You will find this image at the Whimsy Store.

 I've kept the horse white with subtle shading in C1 and 2 and then added colour in all the design sections and of course LOTS of spica, what carnival horse doesn't have pizazz!

I love how sweet this card looks, perfect little girls birthday card.

So get crafting and using your edgers and punches and enter our challenge, you could be a winner of 5 FREE Digital Stamps from the Whimsy Store!

She's a Mod, she's a Mod, she's a Mod... Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

OK, now those of you who were around for the music of the 60s will now be cursing me for the song worm after reading that title!

She's a Mod, Originally recorded by the Senators in the UK but was never a hit for them.  It was re recorded by Ray Columbus and the Invaders in New Zealand and reached number 1 on the charts in Australia and New Zealand and made the top 100 in America!  YouTube clip.  it goes for a whole 2 mins 10 seconds!

Anyway now I've set the scene for the swinging 60s... On to my card.

 How amazingly cute is this little Mod Marci?  Sammi has her available at the Mad for Markers store.  I had such a fabulous time colouring her and then, because I was listening to 60s music, I decided she needed a psychedelic background.

As the challenge this month at Mad for Markers is to use your Copic Markers from the Bs, BGs and BVs I used colours from those families and just flicked them out from the centre of the card, the slight curve just happened with the natural flicking motion.  Isn't it Awesome? I love how this turned out.

There is still time to get your projects done and entered into our challenge at Mad for Markers Challenges

I am hoping that this post through the miracle of modern technology has appeared on my blog, I'm out celebrating my birthday with friends and trying to keep warm in Canberra!  (I think I've acclimatised to Nth Queensland again!) ---- It's not that cold after all!

Just adding an update here, working from my new netbook, I'm updating this post to add her to Make It Monday - Anything Goes

Whimsy Challenge #47 - Monochromatic!

Hello and welcome to Whimsy's Inspiration challenge number 47, we're going Monochromatic.  I love Monochromatic cards, they have that special something, that wow factor.

I've used Chrissy Armstrong's Lexis Beach Ball image here and gone all Yellow!  You can find this image at the Whimsy Store

Here is a closeup of the image showing the sparkle from the Spica pens.

Lots of Nesties from the Damask Motifs set used here and of course beautiful mix of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The backing papers are from a very old SU 6x6 pad and the sentiment is from SU.

Hope you find time to make up your Monochromatic creations and link them up to our challenge, you could be in the running for a $15.00 Whimsy Stamps voucher!

Smash Book pages!

Warning!  This is a long post, go grab a cuppa first!
~~~~~~~
I finally got around to starting on my smash book.  I won this fabulous Retro smash book from Mandy at A Sprinkling of Glitter and it winged it's way from England to Australia (Thank you again Mandy), I was so excited to get it, then....nothing....my mojo deserted me and it sat untouched, I did try to do up a page, I had already prepared some things I wanted to do, but they just didn't work with the masculine pages.
Then inspiration struck, I'm always looking back to see some of my favourite colour combos for copics so that's what I'm using the smash book for!  As I would be adding lots of images then some of the images on the pages could be easily covered.
The first two pages are digi image of Birgitta by CC designs specially for the online class by Mandi Lee.  This was my way of trying out different skin and hair combinations  as the class progressed.  You can see I've added wings, shoes and stockings.  I ran out of time to do all the dresses as I wanted to get this book started.
 Pages 1 & 2
 Pages 3 & 4
The above 10 images were all from done as inspired by the class and is a great way to try out different skin and hair combinations.
The next page is all since then. and these are just different images with funky hair that I loved colouring when I made them into cards, so I stamped and printed out more to add to my book.
Now as the Mad for Markers challenge this month is for using your Bs, BGs and BVs, think outside the norm and use them for hair.  Here BGs and Bs look awesome as funky hair colours.  If you're a bit shy at trying something outside the norm, go for a fantasy figure like a fairy, then you can suspend realism and go for broke!
Have fun with experimenting and coming up with your own combinations.
Oh I almost forgot.  Make it Monday!   I must be getting old!
Sultry!
Hey all, I found some time today to colour up the newest Delicious Doodles image Thorne.  She's a sultry vixen this one and I coloured her up with vivid red hair, lips and nails!
This is my take on the Summer theme for Delecious Doodles challenge, Thorne is such a sultry, hot vixen and summer here in the northern part of Australia gets sultry and hot too.
 for some reason, my camera has not reproduced the red hair as deep as it really is.  I've used R46, R27, R17, R05, R02 for her hair so I do promise you it's a lot darker than is appears in the photos, she also looks a bit washed out.  I've tried taking photos in other locations but to no avail.  Sorry this is as good as it gets!
This photo shows the double layer of flowers and the sparkle of the spica pen, Lemon, Buttermilk and Gold on the flowers and Lipstick in her hair.  There is also some Lilac spica around her eyes which are smokey with B66 and B0000 as eyeshadow.  Her Earring is done in Lipstick spica and I went over her Tattoos with Black spica.
I threaded some narrow satin ribbon in deep red through the black lace and also added some Red pearls.  The little metal butterfly is from Wild Orchid Crafts and has little dots of Red glitter on the edge of the wings.  I've used Bohemian rage papers from Kaiser craft and a rich orange bazil CS base.
Black Pearl
Hi all, welcome to a new Southern Girls Challenge.  This time we are asking you to use Pearls.  It's that easy!  So get your creative juices flowing and make those beautiful  pearly and girly creations.
I went in a slightly different direction, while my card has pearls and flowers, they're black, I had to as I'd selected Black Pearl from Delicious Doodles
Teri has just advised some of her images are now in rubber over at SweetPea stamps! Awesome!
Teri has created a true mermaid, as you may know, in stories of mermaids, it is said some would use their beauty and charm to lure sailor men to their deaths.  So here is Black Pearl in all her glory surrounded by the skulls of the sailors she has lured to their watery graves.
 I've coloured her with copics and used the clear spica pen to provide a sheen over the scales on her tail.  IRL it looks fabulous.  I had some gold netting which was perfect with this image.
 I sprayed some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers with black ink and Champagne Shimmer Mist to sparkle them up.  I've used a Gold Foil pen to paint the centre of one flower and to change the colour of the stamen that are then added around the black flowers to take away the denseness of the black.
 The sentiment is embossed with Obsidian Teal embossing powder from Moonglow.  It's stunning as it gives off this teal shine and glimmer but looks black.  Not being the best photographer, this looks a tiny bit washed out, but I couldn't get the adjustments right when I tried, so I gave up!  I need to learn this stuff. LOL
Copics used
Skin:  BG000
Eyes:  BG15
Lips: V25
Hair:  BV0000, BV00, V25 Lavender and Turquoise spica
Tail: BG11, BG15, BG18 Clear spica
Background:  E40, E42, E44, E50, E51, E53, E71, E77, YR02, YR04, YR07, YR18, G40, G43, G46, B0000, BG000
Pearls:  100
So now it's your turn.  We can't wait to see your fabulous creations.  You can enter your projects at Southern Girls Challenges.
I'm entering this into Make It Monday - Anything Goes.
Whimsy Challenge # 46!
Hi all, welcome to all my FABULOUS new followers!  A very BIG Welcome to another Wednesday and you know what that means?  A new challenge at Whimsy Inspirations Challenge blog!
This week our challenge is Anything Goes, I know this is always a favourite with our fans.  I've used a new LiaStampz digi image Faerie Dandelion available at the Whimsy Store now.  I've used very few colours with her as she looked like a little woodland nymph so I stuck to Greens and some golden tones in her hair.
Can't wait to see your beautiful creations, so get crafting and link 'em up!
Blue, Blue, Blue for YOU!
Hello everyone, it's Kasey here, this month the challenge at Mad for Markers is to use your Copic Markers and feature the B, BG or BV colour ranges.
To me, Bs and BGs are perfect for water and I turned straight to my new Mermaid Marci to create this card.
How cute is this little Mermaid Marci?  I used lots of dots as her background in all the Blues and Blue Greens that I'd used on her tail.  I also went over her scales with a clear spica pen, this adds just enough glimmer to those scales.
I coloured some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers (the little ones) with my copic markers so I had the perfect matching embellishments.
Colours used:
Skin:  E50; 51; 53; 93
Hair: E21; 31; 33; 35
Tail: B0000; 00; 02; 04; BG000; 11; 15; 18; 72; 75
Starfish: YR02; 04; 18
Don't have all the colours you need? Then head on over to the Mad for Markers store, you can even pick up this cute little Mermaid Marci.
The Mad for Markers design team are so excited about this challenge and can't wait to see your creations featuring these fabulous colour ranges Bs, BGs and or BVs.
PS:   You can enter more than once if you like!
Cheers,
