Grab those stamps and images with flowers and get creating!  The challenge at Southern Girls is all about Flowers.  You can use flowers as embellishments too.

My card is made with a layering of Nesties to create a flower then I've go the lovely Teacup Fairy from DtsArt I really liked the daffodils and thought she was a cute little thing sitting in her teacup.

I added some knotted ribbon as trim along with some lovely sparkly turquoise gems.  There is lots of spica used in this image.

A fond Farewell card

Hello to all my new followers.  I'm thrilled that I've gathered so many over the past few weeks!  Thank you.

This card was one I made as a farewell card for a fabulous lady who worked in one of my teams at work.  She is a crafter herself so it's always daunting to be creating for someone who also creates.

The background is watercolour paper spritzed with my new collection of Starburst mica sprays, such a glorious shimmer to these colours.  Once this was dry, I then ran it through the bigshot with an embossing folder to give some texture. I cut this gorgeous Cheery Lynn flourish die and then popped some multicoloured roses on the die.

I wanted the card to be just a little different so layered the background on black then mustart and then cherry card and punched the scalloped border on the edge, as you can see in the next photo, the inside is layered with mustard and black to create the border where I added black rhinestones between the scallops.  I'm really happy with the design of this one.

I'm entering this into the following challenges.

Anything Goes - Make your own background
Make it Monday - Anything Goes.

Let me know you visited by leaving me a comment, I love reading your thoughts.

Delicious Doodles an introduction...

The new members of the Delicious Doodles design team were asked to create a post on the blog about themselves as a way of introducing ourselves to the Delicious Doodles followers.

I'm Kasey, usually known as Kasey ~ in Oz online, I'm so overwhelmed and thankful for being selected to be a part of Teri's design team, followers of my blog will know I've got a few of Teri's images and have been posting them fairly often.  I live in sunny North Queensland Australia (hence the in Oz tag).

I've always had to be doing something creative, I've turned my hand to many crafts over the years such as Ceramics, Lead Lighting, Millinery, Beading, Sewing, Crochet and then I found Papercraft, specifically card making although I do dabble occasionally in scrapbooking and off the page items.  I tend to mainly use Copic Markers now and make cards and journal pages.

I hope you find inspiration in the DT cards I'll create for future Delicious Doodles challenges and that you'll play along with us.

Rose Faerie Marci

Hi everyone,  I started colouring my new La La Land Rose Faerie Marci earlier in the week then I had to go out of town for work and today I managed to get some time for finishing the image and making a card.  This little Marci arrived in a parcel from Mad for Markers along with some other new release stamps and a few more copic markers.  RV91, 93, 95, 99 and I love the soft tones.

Rose Faerie Marci has been coloured with copic markers and spica pens and I've used some of my beautiful Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and metal corners, and of course Lily of the Valley sentiment.  I've used a fabulous Cheery Lynn die but not taken all of the punched out pieces out, so it's not as lacy as it usually is, I wanted more of a solid base for Marci.

Copics used

Skin:  E000, E091, E11, R20
Cothers: RV91, RV93, RV95, RV99, YR12, YR31, Lemon and Clear spica

As is usually the case, when I'm not making DT cards, I just create and hope I can find a challenge or two to enter the card.  I was lucky and found Three!

In the Pink ~ Things with Wings

Have you linked up yet?

Hi all, those of you who are new to my blog, you may not have seen my posts for Mad for Markers yet.  This month the theme at Mad for Markers is Anything Goes, how easy is that?

Sammi at Mad for Markers online store runs a monthly challenge and as part of her fabulous DT, I post every second week on the challenge site.

Sammi stocks Copic Markers and accessories, refills, airguns (I have yet to branch out that far!), Xpress It card and tapes etc.  She has a fabulous range of stamps too at very reasonable prices, including La La Land stamps here is one of my favourite Marci stamps  Ruffles Marci.

In colouring this one up I came up with a fabulous plum hair colour and I  LOVE IT!

Copic colours used.

Skin:  E50, E51, E53, R11
Hair: R000, E04, R56, R59 and Garnet spica

Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, Papermania papers, LOTV sentiment, and Nesti oval.

I even decorated the inside too!  This is a filigree corner die from La La Land, yes Sammi also stocks some of their dies.  I've used an SU heart punch on one corner.

We'd love for you to join in on the fun.

Creating for fun

Hello there, welcome to all my new followers and those of you who stick around!  I printed out a Delicious Doodles image 'Butterfly Bliss' this morning and decided I was going to just ink this one up for me, no design team requirements in mind, just the sheer joy of creating with whatever flowed and this is what I came up with.

I've been still playing around with the Starburst sprays and used some for one of the backing papers and the nesti dies.  It is watercolour paper which had been sprayed with three colours of Starburst spray.  Tibetan Poppy Teal, Batchelor Button Blue and French Lilac Violet.  Love the mix that happens when these colours overlap.  The shimmer is beautiful too.  The Wild Orchid Crafts rose has been sprayed with the blue and violet sprays and just looks amazing IRL.

The butterflies were coloured twice and then cut and layered onto the main image with foam dots. and I found a huge blue crystal for the flower centre.

Colours used.
Skin:  E000, E01, E1, R20
Eyes:  B0000, 00, 02
Hair: R000, E21, E25, E29
Dress: B24, B26
Flower & Earrings:  YR15, R17
Butterflies:  100, B0000, B00, B02, B04, B26 Baby Blue spica and Clear spica

I'm entering Butterfly Bliss into the following challenges.

That's it from me for today.

Can't resist those 50 Shades!

Hi all, I had to create another card for the 'In the Pink' challenge 50 Shades of....Pink!

I picked up some Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays and have been playing around with some backgrounds.  I also received this gorgeous 'It's My Party' stamp in the mail this week in my very first order from Lily of the Valley.  This is the only image, I splurged on their fabulous sentiments!

The embossed background is a mix of light and dark pink Starburst sprays and then I embossed it with a Spellbinders embossing folder and sponged a little of SU Rose Red ink that's the same deep pink of the card.  I thought I'd use a little bit of black to offset all that pink.

This little tantrum thrower has been coloured with Copic markers and I love the way her skirt turned out.  it's got loads of ruffles on the image so I just dotted several pinks around as there was no way I was going to be able to get the shading right!

Skin:  E000, 01, 11, R20
Hair: E11, 13, 15
Dress:  E04; R81, 83, 85, 89
Shoes: E04 R85

Hope you like my second entry for In the Pink!

You deserve the Royal treatment!

We all do!

Hi there everyone.  Wow, I'm so thrilled to see I've got over 160 followers now, how amazing is that?  Thank you so much for the lovely compliment, I love visiting new blogs and reading all the lovely comments you leave.

This month at Mad for Markers the challenge is Anything Goes, as long as you've used copic markers in your creation.  We are more than happy to see scrapbook pages, off the page, journal pages, cards, 3d items, in fact, anything that you copic on, you can post it to this months challenge!

Last time I coloured 'Royal' from Some Odd Girl, she was all soft pretty purples, this time I wanted something a bit brighter and picked out some BGs.  I've fussy cut her out and popped her up with foam squares to add a little dimension from the background.

Here's a close up of Royal.

Hair:  E13; 27; 30; 39
Skin:  E50; 51; 53; R20
Dress: BG000; 01; 05  Baby blue spica

Head on over to join in the Anything Goes fun at Mad for Markers monthly challenges blog.

Thanks for visiting!

Oh those cheeky girls!

Yes that's right, Christine (Posh Priscilla) and Sylvia (aka Pretty Patricia) have started their new challenge site 'In the Pink' in a very cheeky way.  Fifty Shades of Pink, with veiled references to the racy trilogy by E L James.

I created this card a while back and have been waiting for just the right challenge to post her and this is certainly the one!  I'm not so sure what the 'Fifty Shades' connection is here, I could make a few suggestions but perhaps not in this timeslot!  So I'll just go with lots of different shades of Pink and leave it safely at that.

Close up of Telephone Marci, lots of RVs and Rs used here and spica pen too.  Lots of beautiful Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and bling and some Nesties.

Here you can see the crystal lacquer on her telephone and glasses, to give lots of lovely shine.

Another one of my all time favourite challenge sites is Make it Monday so TM is being entered there as well.

Copics used.
Skin:  E50; 51; 53; R11
Hair and clothes:  RV000; 02; 04; 06; 52; 63; 66; C1
Silver, Pink and Blossom spica

Thanks for stopping in, if you've taken time out to leave me a comment, I do try to respond to them so stop back in a few days to read it if you like.

Anything goes and a Vintage lesson

Hello to all my lovely blog followers, friends and visitors!  This little card is one I made a while ago for a friends birthday.  My friend is a travel nut so all this travel related text and the image was just perfect for her.

I used a die to cut the edge then used the same die in a smaller around the Travel Marci image.  I coloured the lace with W1 marker and sponged some ink around the edges of all the layers.

The metal embellishment is fixed with a brad and this is used to keep the card closed.

You can pick up a Travel Marci from Mad for Markers store, don't forget that the Mad for Markers monthly challenges are on and this month it's Anything Goes, we'd love to see your entry.

I'm entering this card into the 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge 101 Distressing.

Oh so Delicious from Delicious Doodles

How awesome is this cupcake image? Normally I'm not a cup cake girl at all, not in my craft, although I do like to eat the occasional one or three!

This cupcake by Teri at Delicious Doodles looks decadent and rich and oh so yummy, I imagine that it's rich chocolate cake and lashings of mocha cream laced with Tia Maria and topped with a ripe strawberry.  Is your mouth watering?  Mine is.  But you can certainly imagine that taste just by looking at these fabulous cupcakes.

I've created this card as my entry for the Delicious Doodles DT Call.  Their Challenges are moving to weekly with two teams so I'd only need to make 2 cards a month and with Teri's fabulous images, that's not going to be too hard and I can fit it into my schedule easily, basically this is too good an opportunity to miss out!

Colours used
Strawberry:  R27, R43, R46 & G46
Cream:  E30 & E33 plus sand spica
Cake: E13, E30, E27, E33, E39 sand spica
Wrapping: E33 and gold spica

Wish me luck!

A few false starts...

You know your mojo has deserted you when.... you have a few false starts at colouring an image and it's just not working for you.  That's what has happened to me this weekend, it's been a hectic month with training and a short holiday and more training plus lots of changes at work.

Being away from home for more than two of the past four weeks has been hard, I think I left my mojo sitting on some plane somewhere along the east coast!  There were 8 flights in total and flying is not one of my favourite pastimes, the good thing is I used my traveling time to read a few books!

After all that, when I printed out a couple of digi images, they are too big for cards!  So, what do you do with images that are too big for your cards?  You make a journal page!

Have you seen the amazing tutorial that Alyce did for colouring folds?  OMG that woman is insanely talented and her ability to colour pleats and folds is legendary.  So, using her tutorial I coloured up this stunning Saturated Canary image 'Jules'.

I had a great time making up my page, it's full of firsts, just like this post!

Colours used on 'Jules'
Skin:  E000, E01, E11, E20, B00 (eyes)
